Our past adventures have included…..
ARTHURS PASS
We have three different trips lined up depending on the weather that we have on the day, but rest assured it will be an adventure. Covering distance and if conditions allow, bagging a peak or two, so come prepared to challenge yourself
LEWIS PASS
The Lewis pass is an amazing playground and has many epic routes to explore so make sure that you pack your winter gear and plenty of awesomeness for this one. Be it over a pass or two or a route through the mountain valleys you will be exploring some new terrain and will have a story to tell at the end of it
MT PEEL
Following Long Spur to the top of the ridge then into the saddle we start the ascent to Mt Peel, with some scrambling up through a rocky ridge. The summit is a great place to spot Mt Cook and other peaks, as well as the Rangitata River winding it’s way to the sea.
Holly, CP Squad Adventurer
We’re so grateful to share this message from Holly, who was part of our Winter Adventure Squad last year. Her words truly reflect the impact of what pushing boundaries and stepping outside your comfort zone can have:
“I wanted to send an enormous thank you for allowing me to be part of the Winter Adventure Squad. It’s honestly hard to put into words just how much of an impact this experience has had on my confidence.
Before I started, I would turn back at the sight of scree, had never ventured past the hut at Bealey Spur, and couldn’t even imagine myself walking over ridgelines due to my vertigo and fear of falling. I had only run once with wet shoes at Bottle Lake, never crossed a river, and certainly never went rock hopping. Thanks to the last mission, I can proudly say I’ve done it 44 times! 😂
But perhaps the most life-changing moment came just yesterday. For the first time in my life, I stood on a stage in Auckland and delivered a 40-minute presentation to a room full of professionals. As I thought back to my adventures with the squad, I realized that if I could learn to enjoy running down scree, sliding down rocks, and traversing steep ridgelines, I could conquer this challenge too.
I know you’ve probably heard this a million times before, but it’s worth repeating: This experience has truly made me a stronger, happier person. These adventures are so much more than just a fun day out – they are life-changing.
A huge thank you to Fiona, Matt, and Richard for making me feel safe enough to try new things and good enough to take part in every challenge. Your support means the world to me.
Ēhara tāku toa i te toa takatahi, engari he toa takitini.
(Our strength is not made from us alone, but made from many.)”
